Since stepping into the digital world I wanted to see if the new Bias FX2 plugin could sound as good as my old Marshall from 1975. Both are using the same cab ir (Friedman 4x12) and has a tube screamer with the same settings in front. I wanted to match the tones as best as I could without using any external eq, just the eq on the amps. But it didn't come close... Mids are all the way up on Bias FX2 but still can't reach all the way.. Anyway, see what you think. BIAS FX 2 VS REAL AMP WHICH TONE DO YOU PREFER? SAMPLE 1 WAS THE BIAS FX 2, SAMPLE 2 WAS THE REAL MARSHALL AMP. I was just testing my home studio set up, but then I thought it would be interesting to upload a short video of the two different tones. My intention was not to match the exact Marshall tone - I just tried to get the best tone out of the Marshall amp simulations in Bias Fx 2 and then I recorded my real marshall to compare it. My impression is that the sample you listen to first sounds better. If you listen to the real amp first it will sound better and vice versa. But there is something about the real amp that the simulation cannot recreate, do you agree? For the recording I used my Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50 head and Marshall 1936V cab. In Bias FX 2 I used Marshall JCM 800 and Marshall JTM45 panned left and right. I used Samson C03 condenser mic and Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface to record the amp. Guitar I play in this vid is Tanglewood TSB-94.

In this video, I'm playing a song of mine called "All that it becomes". I'm using two amp simulator plugins: the Positive Grid BIAS Amp 2 and the Universal Audio Softube Marshall 1959 slp, which you can hear a little bit on the left (BIAS amp) and on the right (SOFTUBE). The SOFTUBE is a faithful recreation of a Plexy Super Lead 1959 built in 1967. The BIAS AMP 2 is a virtual amp designer plugin that recreates a lot of different amps. These amps simulators follow two very different philosophies, the SOFTUBE aims to recreate a sound of a specific amp in a very detailed way, while the BIAS AMP 2 is much more flexible providing you with a lot of different amps and cabs, allowing you to tweak the sound in a lot of different ways ...Enjoy! Steve Booke amp matched his Marshall 2550 Jubilee using BIAS Desktop, shared it to ToneCloud and then downloaded it to BIAS Mobile with a single tap. You can integrate any amp match models into JamUp and BIAS FX. Download the ToneCloud preset as "SB Marshall 2550"
In this video me and my buddy Gianluca Pavan wanted to make an A/B comparison between JamUp and the newest BIAS FX app. We compared some of the most commonly used amps (5150, Plexi, Black Face and Dual Recto), setting all the controls at 5 (except the volume...that HAD to be 10) and just played through some famous riffage. For the distorted sound we also put a Tubescream (TubeDrive in Jamup, Screamer in BIAS FX) in the front of the amps. Obiouvsly there was no post eq/mixing/manipulation in the sounds. This is just a comparison between the 2 apps with the same neutral settings and it's pretty obvious that this is not the greatest sound both the apps are capable to reach. It's closer to "hey, let's hear how the emulation of this amps changed from one app to the other". The interface used is an Apogee JAM 96k, and we never touched the Gain knob. Guitars used: Fender Stratocaster (Mexico) with Seymour Duncan JB pickup (bridge) and Hot Rails (Neck), Music Man Axis Sport (no mods). 🤍marcofalanga.com

Quick test using Positive Grid BIAS FX (beta) through 5150III/Mesa half stack. I plugged into FX return and used output settings tool to drop the cab section off in BIAS FX. Recorded with iPhone only, sorry about the sound quality. It sounds really huge live and I cranked it up to earpearcing volume. No screeching or hissing, simply SUPER!
