Introduction to Ansys Design Modeler, Sketching, dimensioning and solid modeling.
When we decompose geometry into multiple bodies, we also loose connection between them. So if you mesh that geometry, we will get discontinuity across all different bodies. To make the mesh continuous, which is pre-requite for any CFD analysis, we must connect our geometry internally. This is known as "Forming a New Part" in Design Modeler and it is all explained in this workshop/tutorial. Thanks for watching my tutorials, please subscribe to my channel and share this video and like it as well to encourage us to make good content on CFD modeling. In this workshop you will learn to create parametric geometric model. With one click, geometry, meshing and solution will get updated with new geometry parameters. This will be handy when you want to study the effect of some parameters on CFD results. Please note that this process is generic and can be used in any version of ANSYS Workbench with small change in interface etc. For more detailed CFD learning, please follow us on udemy: 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍

[Attention: Sorry for the mouse pointer shown a little off during recording in zoom mode] This video shows how to create a simple cube like fluid domain around a body in Design Modeler by using the sketching method. Creating fluid domain by sketching is better than using the 'Enclosure' option because the enclosure option (although being a quick and easy method) has some bugs or inaccuracies, which may result in overlapping surfaces or edges. Note: The front wall of fluid domain should be 1.5-3 times the length of the body along the fluid flow direction. The side should be 2.5-5 times and at the back should be 5-10 times generally. This video has been originally intended to be a quick guide to help a junior university fellow in their cfd based project. #ansys #cfd #domain #fluid #design #modeler
